Your advice is good in theory but I know I would still struggle to let go of all the remaining clothes without looking at them one by one.

why is this method quicker? not sure I understood
I immediately knew “what do I need to keep” wasn’t gonna work for me. It’s a lot faster to identify what’s unnecessary and pile them in one corner to dispose of or give away.
